Gratitude for the Light on Mar 11, 2011

In the wake of Great East Japan Earthquake on Mar 11,2011, prayers and relief poured in from all around the world.

In the darkness of the great disaster, these support and prayers were truly “lights” for Japan, country of rising sun. (approx. JPY135 billions in donations, 1,228 Rescues and 41 dogs, 24,500 crews US Force).

Many prayers were offered for Japan and many support rallies were held around the world. Many VIP and celebrities also took many actions.

Despite the risk of aftershocks and nuclear power plants issue, Cyndi Lauper came to Japan on the day of the disaster and continued to stay there to support Japan, Australia's then Prime Minister Julia Gillard visited the disaster area in April immediately after the disaster to encourage the victims, the 14th Dalai Lama visited the disaster area twice to offer prayers for the souls of the victims, and King Wangchuck of Bhutan told stories about dragons to the children of Fukushima. Many other famous people have also taken action in many ways.

It is practically impossible to keep track of all these numerous support activities, but we have collected and organized as much information as possible in order to express our gratitude to people around the world and to weave the memories of this "support and prayers" and "relay of goodwill" into the future.
